Hi Dr. Jeff! My name is Angelica and I’m from Vancouver, BC but I currently live in Lake Charles, LA. I have a 14 year old lab mix (she’s really a mutt that my husband and I rescued when she was just 4 months old) She was recently diagnosed with diabetes and Cushing’s. She was doing ok for a little bit after being diagnosed and being placed on insulin and vetoryl, but she has regressed again and we’re not sure what to do. She won’t eat, won’t take her medicine, she shakes, and she’s very lethargic. She goes outside and just barks which leads me to believe dementia may be setting in. She’s back to peeing in the house again and I’m just not sure what do to. The vet said she does have a mass that is very close to her inferior vena cava. He didn’t say if it was malignant or not but for some reason my gut tells me it is. We don’t know if she has a pituitary tumor in addition to the mass close to her adrenal glands but I’m just not sure what to do. I would love to bring her to you but we live in Lake Charles so I can’t really do that. I just wanted to get some advice and see what direction we should go next. I hope to hear from you soon.
